Feel good music
Whilst the entire demographic population I am in is listening to cold hardcore emo (scream-o) music (supposedly its ‘in’), I am drawn into feel good music (this week, at least). I am tired of the-cheating-girlfriend-and-I-am-not-over-it-just-yet music. The jealous ex-wife is so last semester, people.

Here are some of my picks:
- Leslie Feist (Feist): You might know her from the new nano commercial. Feist - 1234 (listen) is definitely one of my top picks. Hum this song in your head while your Maths teacher is yapping in front, I can guarantee you that you’ll be smiling all the way through class. Or in simple words, it just puts you in your happy place.
- Corinne Bailey Rae: Corrine is definitely no stranger to feel good music. Her self titled album is full of it. Her album is so happy, it makes emo people happy. No kidding. I recommend getting the full album.
- Paolo Nutini: His name sounds like something you find in an Italian restaurant menu. Kinda odd for a guy to sing about New Shoes (listen), but the song, without doubt, puts a smile on my face. I don’t have new shoes but my year old Chuck Taylor does equally the same thing when I listen to this song.
These are just at the top of my head (John Mayer, Jason Mraz to name a few). Well, frankly, I didn’t feel like photoshopping a collage with all of them in it. The amount of happiness radiating from the photo would make you think twice before you take that last snort of cocaine. And we don’t want to disappoint the drug dealers know, do we?
No, not gay music, it’s happy music. Haha!
Keep in mind that this is this week’s choice. For all I know, I could be listening to Opera music next week. Hmm…

It’s absolutely refreshing to know that at least some one from your age group (yes that makes me sound so old) appreciate non-screaming songs.. i love Corinne Bailey Rae’s music.. it’s calming and inspirational..
cheers..
